How bad are they. Are they only there in the summer months. What area has the least amount of them. Very curious becuase they really bother me and like my blood...

I lived in Richland between 1993 and 2000, and never once had a problem with mosquitos. They also really really like my blood, and eat me alive whenever I visit family back in the midwest. Just a theory, but I don't think Mosquitos like a dryer desert climate. Don't think you have anything to worry about!

I agree with kmfseattle. I don't remember that much of a problem with them the short time I lived there decades ago. I remember a few but nowhere near the number of times I was bit when living in the Seattle area. I live in a desert area now and same thing ...a few but not a big problem.

Just stay away from stagnant water and don't sleep outside and you will be just fine. They love my blood too. I once camped without a tent in the mountains. I was bitten 51 times that night! I even used mosquito spray.

west richland seemed to be the worst area thus the mosquito fogging happening at night in that area. Columbia park when it over flows its banks created ponds but not long lasting.

I'm from Minnesota, where the mosquito is commonly referred to as the "state bird." Trust me, there is no mosquito problem in the Tri-Cities

Mosquitos can be a bit of a nusiance if you live near the Columbia River. Get 1/2 mile or so away from the river and you're going to be fine.
