What types of fish are generally caught in the Columbia River near the Tri-Cities area?

Default Tri-Cities Fish

Salmon, steelhead, smallmouth and largemouth bass, walleye, crappie, bluegill, catfish, shad and sturgeon to name a few.

Based on my experiences fishing around the Tri Cities there are no fish in the Columbia river.

It really depends on what area you want to fish. The warm back water areas have the bass, crappie, bluegills, pumpkinseeds, and the like. The deeper areas have the sturgeon but I think there are strict seasons and areas involving bridges and dams where they can be fished. I think the fishing here sucks compared to where I fished growing up-around The Dalles and the fishing right below the John Day dam in the backwaters was FILLED with bass and other warm water fishies.
