I don't know how much reading you've done on the Ramsey case. Draws more interest for the most part due to the complexity. The Ramseys power, politics and an alleged cover up.

Van der Sloot turned the disappearance into a game over the location of Holloways remains. His first response to questioning about Natalee, 'he sold her to the trafficking market'. It may be the only time he spoke the truth, I'm not convinced shes dead.

The people responsible for the death in this case cannot be prosecuted.

Telluride Daily Planet > Archives > News > Chief Marshal James Kolar offers perspective on Ramsey murder

His new book, titled “Foreign Faction: Who Really Kidnapped JonBenet?” takes a law enforcement approach to sorting through history and the facts on the Ramsey murder. Kolar said he wanted to show — and discount — the many misconceptions that have marred the case and its investigation from the beginning.

Kolar thinks the criminal justice system could look at the murder as a case study. He said different agencies can learn to be more effective by working in collaboration instead of at odds and taking a step back to look at the bigger picture instead of focusing on one thing or another.

Kolar attributes the years of interest in the murder to a combination of things creating a “perfect storm” of events and people coming together, which rapidly spread the story across the county.

“For true crime buffs and people who thought they knew the JonBenét story, [the book] offers a variety of things that had been misconstrued in the media stories over the years,” Kolar said. “I think it’s a really interesting story. There’s a lot of pieces coming into play.”

I don't know too much about this case but have seen a few interviews of the parents and am aware of the overall shaping in this very sad case. There are so many suggestive psychological pieces in the puzzle together with the story itself, that I naturally avoid the issue out of fear I think in finding almost an impossible to accept conclusion, in yet further compelling impossible to ignore data and facts.

There is a clear legal reason the DA has stated they are not pursuing this case. The mother is dead. What is the point of prosecuting a deceased person, pray tell?.

Chief Beckner said the Ramsey case remains open but is not actively being investigated. Detectives follow up on fresh tips occasionally or look at evidence again when someone comes up with a new idea on how to approach it, he said
"I'd classify it as a cold case," Beckner said
Beckner said he is not concerned by newly released material from the investigation -- including police video shot in the Ramsey basement shortly after JonBenet's murder that was posted by The Daily Beast on Wednesday -- because of the case's cold status.
District Attorney Stan Garnett said he is not specifically concerned about Kolar's book

In 50 yrs theres no one alive to be dealt with. The new investigation is for public approval.

Burke will remain closed to any further investigative discussions, John will stick to his version. Their family friends the Whites have shut down.

If the new DNA is correct, theres another person involved, their identity will remain a mystery.

You brought your kids to a doctor every 6 weeks and all of your friends brought their kids too that frequently?
My mom brought me to the doctors sometimes every other week. Sure, it was overkill, but I was constantly constipated and laxatives were not good to take on a regular basis. I was born on a farm and nobody had even heard of milk allergies back then.

The doctor got so fed up that he wouldn't charge her. This was not a big time medical problem, once I learned to just stay away from dairy.

Kolar's book alleges the DNA shows that SIX other people were involved.

Clearly, the DNA is a red herring and Lacy should NEVER have declared the Ramseys innocent based on this junk science.

The reason this case needs reopening is

The lack of transparency in the original investigation
The continued profiteering by John Ramsey from his daughter's death
The continued suspicion cast over Burke
The political interferance and butt covering that persists to this day.

Chronic UTI's are another issue though. And, with so many visits, why weren't JBR's medical issues resolved? Yes, some small percentage of children probably do visit docs a lot, but I don't think a high number. With the Ramsey case, just another red flag among many.
