Dening pain medication shouldn't be a consideration and not what I'm suggesting. I'm aware that many do not become addicted, but those who have, find physicians who will prescribe.

What I am saying is, that the laws we have now are adequate.....we don't need to further restrict a doctor's ability to prescribe pain meds out of fear of being arrested or losing their medical license.

If that happens.....the people who really need the pain meds will be the ones who pay the price.........while addicts will still find a way to get what they want......just like they get cocaine and heroin.

There will always be a certain amount of collateral damage.....but doctors should not be restricted any further than they already are......or we are going to cross that fine line where the innocent will begin to suffer because of the guilty.

I would rather see an addict walk away with a bottle of pain meds he doesn't really need than to see an innocent suffer in agony needlessly.

Valid point. But at the same time, patients with chronic pain should be referred to experienced pain management specialists, who know how to appropriately assess, and prescribe medication for chronic pain, and also use therapy to assist a patient with dealing and managing chronic pain.

Quacks who just write scrips for pain meds recklessly need to be stopped. They are killing people with no consequences. Same as the doctors for Anna Nicole Smith.

The laws we have now would stop doctors like that if they were being enforced properly.....we don't need even more regulations added to the books that will hinder good doctors from properly caring for their patients who are in pain.

There are too many laws and insurance company regulations interfering with doctors who are just trying to do the best thing for their patients already, IMO.

Drug addicts take drugs. They lie, beg, cheat, manipulate, coerce, and bribe people to get drugs. It is part of the addiction, to use others with no guilt, to gain drugs. MJ was an addict. He should have had someone responsible enough to say "No". Dr. Murray is guilty of being a completely amoral useless piece of trash, who sold out his medical license like a Sunset Strip hooker. May his soul burn in Hell on Judgement Day.

What a coward. Say something for yourself you weasel!!!

Dr. Conrad Murray declines to testify in Michael Jackson death trial - latimes.com

He knows that there's nothing he can add that will change his fate.

Still - he's a coward.

Spending all thie money for a trial and all he will receove is 4 years in jail and that will probably be cut due to good behavior and he will be out in a couple of years. Of course he could lose his medical license.

California prisons are so crowded (that's why Lindsay Lohan will only serve like 3 days).....Murray will probably get the 4 years, reduced to house arrest for 2 years. Will lose his license.
