Casey Anthony sold videos of baby Caylee to the media for $250,000.00. That is how she paid Jose Baez to start with ... when the inmates suggested "he was a good lawyer!" Casey also paid death penalty expert Andrea Lyon out of that money.

Then Casey Anthony filed for indigency in 2010 and Judge Perry asked did she want to retain her present defense or did she want him to appoint another lawyer. She told Judge Perry she wanted to stay with Jose!! So Jose is now her court appointed lawyer and the Florida taxpayers are footing his bill. Cheney Mason, Dorothy Clay Sims and Ann Finnell are working pro bono.

Casey Anthony Motion for Indigency 03/05/2010

It doesn't look like to me, if she is convicted, she can try to appeal because of ineffective counsel. She had the best advice ... right??? Jailbirds recommended Baez!

Of course she sold videos when she was still lying about Zanny the nanny and baby Caylee. I think somewhere during that time period her parents put a second mortgage on their home to help with her defense too.

Last week Greta Van Susteren was in Orlando at the jailhouse where Casey is being held for the trial. Greta said people are mailing Anthony money!!

If Casey wants to take the stand, she will no matter what her defense team advises ... she is living in a fantasy world of lies. Jeff Ashton will tear her up! She laughs and giggles when the jury is out and turns on the tears and poor me when the jury is present.

exactly. And how can any1 "hear her side of the story" when her stories change daily. Its not like talking to a credible person. Shes a pathological liar.

Casey won't be taking the stand. It would be a huge mistake with her inconsistencies. But if she does, I can't wait to watch!

Not much news right now, Casey should pray for a huge hurricane or some sort of disaster. Her trial is being micro-reported in minute detail.

Baez up to his tricks today- got reamed by Judge Perry. Judge Perry has overseen 6 DP cases, and none have been overturned on Appeal

The lack of progress and antics of the attorney(s) are a travesty. And CA sits there with a camera on her, enjoying being the center of attention and in the spotlight. And, while I like this judge and have heard very good things about him, could he speak any more slowly?

This is really shameful. I bet jurors start falling out soon.

IMO the judge is very clear and fair and explains things so we all get it. Baez is showing why he will never be a big shot lawyer.

Mark Garagos has been asked questions on tv and to me it is funny to hear him answer while in the back of my mind I keep thinking how he lost Scott Petersons case and how he must be feeling getting what he deserved 23 hrs a day...

I don't know. I think they trial has really been moving along at a great pace. There are slower witness examinations/cross examinations, but over all, to keep the pace going through weekends and holidays is quite commendable.

From the people I've spoken to who have been attending the trial on a daily basis (reporters), they actually have commented on the great alertness and record taking being done by this jury. I think the case is high profile and interesting enough that the jury will hang in there.

I'm still waiting for the proof that the defense will come up to back up their story...normally the defense can sit back and do almost nothing but now they have to proof what they claimed during opening statement.

So far it is 10-0 for the prosecution to me.

I cannot believe that I have to admit that I have not been keeping up w/the trial of late - in a nutshell, can someone tell me what has been going on - where do things stand? Has the defense started their case yet? Has the prosecution rested? Etc.
