It seems the study confuses prostitution and pornography, and blurs the line of going to a strip joint, which is legal. As long as men have d***s, there will be a demand for the service, and they will buy it from women and men. In the US they see a problem with it, while looking the other way when lobbyists buy political influence.

But America is far too puritanical to allow legalization to happen.
In a bad economy, however, legalization and taxation would provide a fresh source of revenue.

The difference is that we are talking about people, not commodities, here. Most prostitutes are drug addicts nationally and do we really think that they are going to follow the rules?

This is the differece between drug legalization (which I support) and prostitution (which I don't), very few positives with legalization of prostitution

Would love to see how much tax revenue it brings the state of Nevada where it is legal.

I worked in a legal brothel in NV and as a Indy as well in the US and In Europe. You be surprised how many NON drug-addicts do this job and put themselves through Medical school, Grad School. etc. BTW. Marriage is sometimes a legal form of prostitution. Loads of women marry for MONEY only.

TO anyone who CLAIMS that most prostitutes do drugs........ Do you know any prostitutes , have you been a prostitute. BET NOT I am one worked with many and most of the CLIENTS are the drug addicts with odd requests.

How about paying taxes? Did you work the streets or a brothel? Not being critical here just curious. I still think legalizing it and taxing it would generate tax revenues and get rid of pimps.

I didn't think all prostitutes were drug addicts anyway. Yes I knew a prostitute but she lived her life and did her business with sugar dads. Aging is factor with that endeavor and she died in a hotel room in St Louis all alone.

They'll be earning money which they will spend and that money will flow throughout the economy creating jobs.

The rural counties in Nevada which have legal prostitution have virtually no other sources of employment than the brothels. If the brothels were not there, there would be no jobs at all and virtually no economy. If not for legal prostitution in those counties the rate of welfare dependency, which is already sky high, would be close to 100 percent.

Think of it this way - better to earn money as a prostitute than to earn money from welfare.

I worked for several legal brothels. Have worked Indy for High End clients BTW not all prostitutes pound the pavement. MANY work high end like myself.

Aging is not a factor to all of us. I take very good care of yourself. YOu can be a CEO of a company and age bad. GENES and how you take care of yourself are key.

The High End Gals invest their money wisely and never had to rely on others. The ones with PIMPS are the ones who do not live the good life and end up dead early and do drugs.

That is BS i worked at several brothels in NV and they're are loads of other jobs and not all of them are in Rural areas. Parump is next to Vegas

and Moundhouse where there are 4 houses , is 4 mins from the capital Carson City. You also have bowing and several other major companies less then 4 mins away.

Patrick is 4 mins from reno.

Winemucca is a small town with a lot to offer even a Superwalmart and loads of other companies

95 percent of the girls who work at the brothels are from other states and countries . the 5 percent that do work in brothels are barmaids, maids, cooks, owner / manager Most of whom are illegals or just moved to the area

I think many people imagine a prostitute as a streetwalker hooker who walks up and down the streets hoping a car will stop and she can make a few bucks for the next fix. The type on Cops who's in and out of jail and rehab.
