I would like to hear opinions if anybody still feels the need to discuss.

I think murder and she wasn't convicted because her mother and her brother lied for her.
Her attorney put out a lie.
She lied about everything after Caylee's death.
Her father helped her because he let himself be portrayed as a liar and he probably is too.
I think they were all in on this and teamed up with the defense to lie and to confuse the jury.
The trial was a huge miscarriage of justice because lies prevailed over truth and the jury bought the lies.

That is just my opinion.
Anybody have an opinion?
Accident or murder?

Murder or manslaughter...I'm not sure which. I don't think it was an accident. NOTHING adds up for an accident (drowning or some other accident where someone didn't accidentally cause her death). IF it were an accident and they wanted to make it look like a kidnapping, they would have reported her missing shortly after she died. 31 days is excessive to lie about a child being missing and does nothing but cast a shadow of doubt on you. That makes me think she was covering up more than an accident. Maybe a chloroform accident. Maybe she tried to knock her out and accidentally killed her. I could see someone lying as long as possible then to give time for the body to decompose and evidence to be destroyed. So, at least manslaughter and possibly murder but murder wasn't proven. I'm sure she had something to do with her daughter's death though.

I've thought about some possible scenarios for why this happened.
1) Could the Anthonys' have been in such a dire financial situation that they wanted to stage an accident to sue the pool company or perhaps collect if the whole family was covered by property liability? Say for instance this was the case and they over-chloroformed Caylee and she was already dead before the drowning. If the medical examiner doesn't find water in her lungs then it's no accident....perhaps she got into the act and forgot about that detail, hence the reason such care was taken to make sure the body wasn't discovered immediately.

2)What about the sexual abuse allegations, some of those jailhouse letters written to Casey by George IMO are not typical dad-daughter interaction. A psychologist pointed this out one night on NG and ala NG style he was immediately dismissed and scorned by Nancy, cut to commercial break. Could it be possible little Caylee walked in on Casey doing something inappropriate with George?

The motive was either profit driven or coverup of internal family event. Cindy and George willfully watched Caylee so Casey could go party and even when they didn't Casey took Caylee with her to sleep over at her fling for the week/month, whatever, so one could conclude this wasn't a case of "Caylee was in the way and had to go" in that regard. Casey appeared to have run of the house as well. Just the fact that there never was any "Zanny" is proof enough for me that this was no accident and I'll never be convinced Casey acted alone in the whole series of events, especially the coverup part.

If Caylee had walked in on Casey and George, she was too young to really understand anything.

I believe it was delibrate, and calculated. I believe Caylee was a pawn in a power struggle between Cindy and Casey. Casey was tired of the control, but did not want cindy to "win", Casey is too narrasistic to allow anyone to think she would dump her kid. In her flawed thinking, Caylee just needed to be gone, then Casey's life would be perfect.

Here's what I think happened. Casey had left home and for the first time she had to deal with her daughter totally on her own. She couldn't handle it and it interfered with her party lifestyle. Casey began to sedate Caylee to help her sleep, probably using Xanax, Valium, etc. She may have even used Chloroform at some point. According to a friend of mine who's a cop, prescription sedatives like Xanax can be bought on the street illegally very easily. At some point Casey accidentally gave Caylee too much Xanax, Valium, etc., and Caylee died. Casey put Caylee in the trunk of her car and was in a daze for a few days. She knew she had made a huge mistake and her parents adored Caylee. Casey had also had a big fight with her parents and had left home so she knew they wouldn't help her. During those few days while Caylee's dead body was in the trunk of her car she decided that she would bury the body and come with a story about Caylee being kidnapped by "Zanny the nanny". Casey then buried Caylee's body and used duct tape from George's garage to cover Caylee's mouth to make it look like she had been kidnapped and buried. That would support her kidnapping story if anyone found Caylee's body. I don't think George was involved in the incident at all. What former policeman would bury a body that close to his own home, and that close to the road? I think that Casey herself buried Caylee's body. The reason Casey didn't report her child missing for 31 days is because she wanted Caylee's body to decompose. She had probably heard her father George, the ex-cop, talk about criminal cases before and she knew that it would be very difficult to prove that she had killed Caylee after her body had decomposed for a while. That's why she delayed telling anyone as long as possible. When her mother Cindy confronted her after 31 days she finally admitted that Caylee was missing and she decided to procede with her kidnapping story, hoping that Caylee's body would never be found but feeling confident that she had covered her tracks just in case her body was found. I believe that something very similar to that happened. So in a sense, I think the whole thing was most likely "an accident that snowballed out of control".

What you just described to me is what I would call a brutal, senseless, and disgustingly viscious murder... neglectful or not.

I'd go as far as putting all the speculation and guessing aside... and just look at the fact that Casey, the mother and provider for her daughter, did not report her missing daughter for some 31 days. What in the world is that about?

Accident my foot. If you had an accident involving your defenseless 2 year old daughter, you don't blow it off for 31 days.

Now add to that her attitude to her concerned parents and her behavior in the days her daughter was supposedly missing... and you start to see what type of person this is.

Straight up evil is what I call it.

I have mixed feeling ... one day I think it was an accident. All of the 'friends' at Tony L's apartment wanted to go out one night. Casey didn't have a babysitter that is somewhere in the archives she couldn't go out.

When she and Caylee lived with her ex-bf Ricardo Morales they all three slept in the same bed. Then seeing that "Win her over with chloroform" poster that Ricardo Morales thought was funny posted on his My Space. Perhaps to get Caylee asleep they used a little bit of chloroform. Placing a little bit of chloroform on a paper towel or tissue and Caylee was asleep. A novice could easily use to much chloroform and kill a person.

The reason I think this way is ... I just cannot conceive of a mother killing their child. I know Susan Smith, Andrea Yates ... mothers do kill but I still cannot come to grips with that for some reason.

I see how Casey lies and lies and more lies. Quitting school without telling her parents before there was a Caylee. Seven months pregnant and it's a tumor ... they dwell in the Twilight Zone. Day 31 Cindy called 911 ... then even while in jail talking to her parents and Lee she continues to lie. She lied to LEO. Everything that comes out of her mouth is a lie.

Maybe it was just me but I see the Anthonys circle the wagon ... gonna save our daughter no matter what and makes tons of money now.

Cindy lies on the stand ... No ... she didn't send the guy to Suburban Dr and Lee follows her to the stand and says ... Yes my mother sent the guy to Suburban Dr and we had a big argument about it. These testimonies followed each other zap zap zap.

Cindy leads George around by the nose she paid him out of gambling debts on internet, porn debts on internet and one of those Nigerian email scams ... so George is left to fend for himself ... Yes Cindy they can say I molested, Yes Cindy they can say Caylee drowned. When I look at it that way ... I think they all were involved and danced around doing the high five number when they won a not guilty verdict.

Caylee is dead and and thrown away like garbage. She didn't kill herself. She was in the care of her mother, Casey Anthony when last seen. To me that lays it all in Casey Anthony's hands whether is was an accident or intentional. JMHO

This is an interesting article regarding how Jose confused the jury ... I like the part in the article ..."It is arguable that of the 300 million plus population of the United States, the Orlando court managed to pick the only twelve people who did not understand the concept of reasonable doubt, or that they could convict without being certain of the cause of death."

Officially it is called murder and I don't think it mattered to her if it was an accident or murder, but I believe she intended to keep the child quiet to party but in the end needed to get rid of her because she started to talk and give away Casey's lies...

I hope Karma deals with her...with that I mean she will get a horrible life and suffers long because people don't want to deal with her and she will be so lonely and will be torn on the inside from guilt....

The same thing I hope for anybody who lied on her behalf in court...

It make sense if it's not a true accident (like a drowining). The only reason for not reporting her missing, immediately, was that Casey wanted the body to decompose. There had to be a reason for that. Something she was covering up that SHE DID, like accidentally killing her with sedatives which would land her in jail for manslaughter.

It's not an accident if you, deliberately, do something to another person that could cause them harm and it ends up killing them. That's why I don't get why the jury didn't come back with a manslaughter conviction. Casey's actions SCREAM involvement with her daughters death and a need for the body to be well into decomposition before it was found to destroy evidence.

An accident is your child trips and falls down the stairs not you used chloroform to knock them out and "accidentally" killed them. You don't have to intend to kill for it to be manslaughter. You just have to be responsible for the actions that caused the death. We had a young man a street over convicted of manslaughter becuase he loaded friends into the bed of his truck and then went zig zagging down the street and turned the truck over killing one of his friends. His friend died as a direct result of intentional actions taken by the driver that weren't safe. Using chloroform on you child is not safe so it's not an accidental death.
