If anyone believes this "child" will grow up to be a productive member of society, I have some beach front property in Kansas to sell you.

Interesting. He could be turned around with aggressive work from his parents. But, I agree, right now, without intervention, he will be on the road to a lifetime of being institutionalized.

I bet the kid is in foster care. His parents are probably most of his problem.

I disagree. Yes, there are bad parents which help add to the mix. However, your statement and others, merely reinforces my original point. People, in general, cannot belive there are "bad persons" in the world.

Like it or not, some people are just born "messed up." It doesn't matter who their parents are or their upbringing. They are going to be screwed up and be criminals, no matter what you do for them. I've seen it, time and time again. Kids born into "good families," with loving parents, money, good schooling, etc and they turn out to be criminals. At the sametime, I've seen kids who parents are low life criminals, drug addicts, etc and grow up to be pillars of society.

The parents aren't ALWAYS to blame...

That is for sure true! I had a "spawn of satan"...he stole a car at 15. The other three kids, no problems. I kept wondering if we got the wrong kid at the hospital, or if he turned bad because he was a middle child...but he was just wired different. He turned around though...and is a excellent young man in the military...where he fits right in..

Some people are born messed up, but driving, or not driving, drunk is a choice we are all faced with every day. Somewhere, this kid got the idea that this might be fun to try. He had access to car keys and liquor and he decided based on whatever he uses for a brain that, hey, let's go for it. That kind of thing is well within the parents' control.
