The recent news from Jose Baez to Geraldo At Large was that his client, Casey Anthony, was undergoing therapy and counseling.

When Casey reported to her Probation Officer she stated on her probation form that she has not attended any mental health or therapy programs since her release, which is in direct conflict to her attorney’s claims.

According to People mag, shes getting psychiatric help. The source of information to the magazine most likely came from her defense team.

It seems the defense team is saying one thing and Casey is saying another thing. And we all know how she is such a truthful person.

Actually I cannot understand why she still has a defense team ... I have never seen a defense team 'hang on' to their client for dear life. Even OJ's didn't hang on to him and Amanda Knox did not have an entourage of lawyers following her to the airport and home to the US.

Yes she has another attorney for the Zenaida Gonzalez civil case, Charles Greene ... court appointed on the taxpayers dime. The deposition for that case is this coming Saturday. Casey is taking the fifth amendment. Casey is really pond scum when you look beyond her killing Caylee ... she just isn't a nice person at all.

I don't think even the adult film industry would take a risk on her (at least publically), like they did with Octomom.
Shortly after the verdict was announed, Vivid Entertainment made her an offer to star in a porno flic, the offer lasted a total of I believe six hours before they pulled it. They said they underestimated negative feedback from their customers and that it was obvious the public wanted nothing to do with Casey Anthony. Now that's pretty bad when even the poorn industry turns you down!!!

I believe I discussed this with someone else on another thread. Since when did defense lawyers also become publicity agents?

Fairly interesting. I am sure glad all these people witnesses this "lady" killing her child and are so sure of her guilt. I mean, geez, she wasn't acquitted was she?

Get over it people. She won. Society lost. There are hundreds and THOUSANDS of other cases, still in court, which deserve the publics help. This is over and a lost cause.

Pick your battles; you've lost this one...

Why do all your posts sound the same on this subject phil? We know how you feel, there is no need to say the same things over and over. And yes, the majority of the public is certain of her guilt, and there is likely nothing that will change our minds, YOU need to GET OVER that! And Phil, "acquitted" does not mean innocent, I would think that is something you would know being an officer of the law and all.

That's the problem with the justice system right there. It isn't about finding the truth with prosecuters, and it isn't about defending someones rights with defense attornies, It's about who won and who lost, who can spin the story in the most appealing way, and who can come up with the best lie. I respect all lawyers and what they do, but it's no wonder they have such a crappy reputation anymore.

P.S.
I always find it ironic and quite humorous when somone posts on a subject telling people they need to quit posting about it and get over it.

The justice system is about setting up rules that deal with situations in something resembling a uniform manner. In order to accomplish that objective, our Constitution is full of written provisions. State legislatures have passed written laws that prohibit offenses like murder, rape, robbery, and kidnapping. All these offenses have elements. In order to be convicted of one the state is obligated to prove each separate element.

Some people who don't understand all that do perceive the system as "corrupt" or a "game". Far from it, its a "sifting mechanism". Its meant to weed out those cases that lack substance--or those where evidence is lacking--from those that do have substance and are provable.

The idea that any system can function with 100% accuracy is laughable. Ours doesn't and I make no apologies for that. You can't conceive of a better one and you know it.

I'm curious just what you think Casey Anthony's attorney should have done? Should he have sat silent in a chair and not attempted to put on any defense at all? Sorry, the Constitution guarantees one legal counsel and part of the definition of legal counsel is effective counsel.

Finally, your comment about lawyers is non-sequitur. You say that "you respect all lawyers and what they do", but than go on to say "its no wonder they have such a crappy reputation". Either you respect them or you don't wonder why they have a crappy reputation. You can't do both.

Too many people who can't even describe three rights guaranteed to criminal defendants by the Constitution fancy themselves experts when it comes to the criminal justice system. They have no more expertise at this than they would performing abdominal surgery for the first time. Perhaps, this is why Americans have such a "crappy reputation" when it comes to understanding anything intellectual.

(BTW: Its "prosecutors" and "attorneys")
