yesterday, 8 people were shot dead and 1 is in critical condition in a rampage shooting in a hair salon in Seal Beach, CA, a quiet, beautiful beach town in Orange County. Perp was captured less than 2 minutes after the crimes. Apparently he wanted to kill his ex-wife and anybody else who was in his way due to custody battle over their 7 year old son. Perp was remarried and he was the one who initiated the divorce, which was several years ago.

so now this poor child has lost his mother and his father will get the DP, and what did all this accomplish??? All the families, children, grandchildren of those people lost yesterday have lost a loved one over something they weren't even involved in. Of course, as usual, all his neighbords just thought he was the greatest, friendliest guy they had ever met. Grrrrrrrrr

What did this guy think he was going to accomplish...did he really think he would get away with it when he was identified and captured within 2 minutes....

Here is a link to the story:

I think, in instances like these, people literally just snap. Thus neighbors' reactions about their shock at a nice guy doing something like this.

Plus, from what I understand, Seal Beach is a very quiet friendly town. There was ONE reported homicide in five years. You live in a place like that, you certainly don't expect one of your neighbors to go off his rocker like that.

Superior Court Judge Thomas Goethals blocked prosecutors from pursuing the death penalty against Dekraai, ruling that the county’s mishandling of information regarding informants would prevent a fair trial.

Six years after the crime, and our courts are still wrangling over whether the murderer, who was witnessed committing the crime and who was seen fleeing by a police officer, should get the death penalty. Congrats to our justice system for a job well-done.

Don't know why CA even tries DP cases. Even if convicted they die of old age first.

Bring him to Texas.
