Anyone hear about this? There is a book that says that God wants parents to beat their kids with plumbing line.

This book is read by many fundamentalist Christians. It has been misinterpreted enough that this book and it's teachings have resulted in the death of not one but several children. All adopted from Africa. What is wrong here?

Yes we need article. But this side of the story sounds very scary. It's almost like the witches of Salem. You when they tested the witches to see if they were a witch, you would lose no matter what you did. I can't beleive we still live in the dark ages.

There certianly is a book that says parents should beat their children to death...... it's called the BIBLE!!!

Micheal Pearl was interviewed on CNN last night. I found it chilling that he compared a child to a mule or "animal". He seemed to skirt around questions of corporal punishment, but it seemed obvious that he wanted control, no matter what. The problem is that these people don't look at the developmental stages of a child, and may be requiring "adult" skills, in terms of obedience, that are beyond the capacity of a child. Scary.
