WOW, I just read that Ray Gricar was the DA that was going to prosecute this case...don't know if you ever followed his case, but he disappeared one day and his body has never been found. There was always speculation that he was involved in something big. He went off one day looking for antiques, but many thought maybe he was going to meet someone, because he disappeared that day, never to be seen again. I think something of his was found in a river (can't remember what he was) but he was never found. Just disappeared after a stellar career.

"It is strange that Centre County District Attorney Ray Gricar never prosecuted Jerry Sandusky on child-rape charges 13 years ago, some speculate, because Gricar was known for being fiercely independent and hard on crime. But it is even stranger that we cannot ask Gricar why Sandusky was not put behind bars, because the tough-as-nails district attorney disappeared in 2005. And though he was declared dead July of this year, his body has never been found."

Like I said, this case is going to get very deep and very ugly.

Note - Ray Gricar’s car was found the next day in a Lewisburg parking lot and his laptop, sans hard drive, was found in the Susquehanna River, according to the Patriot-News

Yes, loveautumn, the disappearance of the DA is so interesting. My mind went to some really horrible thoughts when I heard this piece of info (and I want it to stop and return to me).

I think it was the DA's computer that was found.

The University President and Paterno both fired ... what will happen to Tim Curley and Gary Schultz they have charges against them but will they keep their jobs??

They are all to blame for this evil and all should be held accountable. The students demonstrating should be ashamed of themselves worshiping at the altar of football with no thoughts whatsoever of the children.

This kind of thing has been sick for a long time. Amazing that it took Penn State's name to bring it out.

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/10/15/us...by-priest.html

Quote:
The indictment of the bishop, Robert W. Finn, and the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph by a county grand jury was announced on Friday. Each was charged with one misdemeanor count involving a priest accused of taking pornographic photographs of girls as recently as this year. They pleaded not guilty.

The case caused an uproar among Catholics in Kansas City this year when Bishop Finn acknowledged that he knew of the photographs last December but did not turn them over to the police until May. During that time, the priest, the Rev. Shawn Ratigan, is said to have continued to attend church events with children, and took lewd photographs of another young girl.
I remember when it caused many outrages when anyone brought up these issues. Maybe now it can be stopped.

Penn State ... The Catholic Church and the Boy Scouts of America too.

5,000 child molesters: the US Boy Scouts movement's guilty secret

Over nearly two decades, Turley molested at least 15 children in Southern California and British Columbia, most of whom he met through American and Canadian Scouting, a Los Angeles Times and CBC investigation has found.

Scouting officials on both sides of the border not only failed to stop him, but sometimes helped cover his tracks, according to confidential Scouting records, court files and interviews with victims, families and Scout leaders.

In 1979, Boy Scouts of America officials decided not to call police after Turley admitted molesting three Orange County boys, the organization’s records show. "It was so easy," Turley said, alleging that scouting officials not only failed to stop him, but sometimes helped to cover his tracks.

“We were following exactly the national recommendations of the Boy Scouts of America and its board, who set up the rules,” said A. Buford Hill Jr., a former Orange County Scouting executive, in a recent interview.

I read in another forum that Sandusky's son Jon and McQuery went to the same high school and they were on the same football team.

I wonder if they went to the same schools when they were younger. I wonder if Sandusky had access to McQuery as a young child.

I know it's a stretch but I am trying to wrap my head around how an adult could witness a child being sexually assaulted and walk away where the normal reaction would be to grab the child and take him somewhere safe, call the cops asap and possibly if you're big enough beat the living tar out of the adult.

Here is a link to today’s special report in the Patriot: http://www.pennlive.com/midstate/index.ssf/2011/11/who_knew_what_about_jerry_sand.html

Apparently there were many missed opportunities to stop Jerry Sandusky’s alleged abuse. It may take years to sort out this whole mess. I have seen reports that there could have been 20 or more victims and I saw one allegation of pimping. All of this is unsubstantiated and, at this time, only rumors.

It is going to be an excellent case to follow and see how we can prevent further tragedies. I see that the protesters at PSU have now decided to pray for the victims. If all of the allegations are proven to be true there will be many more that come forward.

This is a must read article, very interesting. At this point, I would be very surprised if Sandusky doesn't kill himself. Why wouldn't he?

No kidding. He should be locked up right now and under suicide watch, not roaming the streets, free.
