LOS ANGELES (AP) — Homicide detectives have re-opened their investigation of Natalie Wood's death nearly 30 years after the actress drowned in the waters off Southern California in one of Hollywood's most enduring mysteries.
The renewed look at Wood's Nov. 29, 1981, death was prompted by new information detectives received about the case, Los Angeles County sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore said Thursday.
why when it is not going to bring her back and all involved in this case have moved on with their lives . Are they saying that they believe that someone killed her or pushed her into the water ? My mother never believed that story about her just taking the dingy off and going out into the water . But people really did not ? things like that back then .
I have always thought there was more to this than an accident. This woman was terrified of the water. Why would she walk out on the deck, alone, in the dark and risk slipping into the water? It just doesn't make sense. Why would her body be covered with bruises? One bruise or two from a fall, okay...that I can see, but "covered" with bruises? Taking the dingy out alone? I don't by that either. Again...she was terrified of the water. While I don't want to think that RJ or Christopher Walkin had anything to do with her death, I do think someone had something to do with her death.
I remember reading Nogchi's account of his autopsy of Natalie Wood, and I DON'T remember any mention of her face having been struck. I wonder what that was about? And what could the new information be?
There must be something, maybe there was a cover up 30 years ago. I can see that as the only reason to re open this case. Otherwise, some people are going to be in big trouble for stirring this up without a MAJOR smoking gun.
More News, Boat captain alleges actor Robert Wagner responsible for Natalie Wood's death.
The former captain of the boat from which actress Natalie Wood drowned in 1981 alleged on TODAY Friday that her husband, actor Robert Wagner, was responsible for her death.
I read a biography about Natalie Wood years ago and it seems to me that because of her fear of water she wouldn't have gone out on a dinghy alone and would have never gone outside of that boat in the dark.
Catalina's the sort of island that shutters itself after 12:30 am. You're not going to take a dinghy ashore and think you're going to walk into a lively tavern as if it's 4pm. No doubt she would know that.
