Does anyone know the name of a film produced in the late 60's or early 70's about a young teenage boy who was a suspect in the murder of a girl his age?

I saw this years ago on TV late at when I was visiting a relative at a college town. I had never seen a film like this before (or since) and at the time I wondered if these types of movies were shown to scare potential things from happening among, say, unstable college students.

Sorry I don't have more info, other than I think the girl was last seen at a park or playground with her friends. It was based on a true story. I don't even know when the crime occurred. I just remember the movie had a very dated feel. (Late 60's-early 70's). Probably low budget.

Thanks for any information.

I can't help you on this movie ... you might try the Entertainment - Movies Forum on City-Data. I have read descriptions of movies posted there and someone usually comes up with a name. Good luck.

This description reminds me of an evening "news" program (like 20/20 or Dateline or something...)that did a re-enactment type story of the murder of Martha Moxley in 1975 by Ethel Kennedy's nephew. He was convicted in 2002 so it would have been around that time that I would have seen this show.
