For some reason my other thread got closed. But if anyone knows the name of a case that occurred in the 60's or earlier about a boy who is suspected to have murdered a girl his age, I would appreciate any info.

She had been last seen at a park or playground. I believe that was on a Saturday. The boy and girl were both teenage or preteen. Sorry I don't have any other info.

Thanks.

I suggested on that thread that you search IMDB.

Thanks. Yes, I have used IMDB many times. I had no luck with this, however.

Where was this supposed to have happened? Could it be Lynn Harper and Steven Truscott? He was 14, she was 12 or so in the 1950s in Canada -- he gave her a ride on his handlebars and she was later found dead. If so, there were half a dozen books written on the case -- it was very controversial.

Thanks. I'll check into that. It may be that she was a little younger. It's been so long since I've seen the movie, though.

It's possible that was the case. However, I tried to search but couldn't find a movie from the late 60's or early 70's that was about that.

But I do remember one thing shown at the end of the film. It was a quote from the boy. It was something along these lines (paraphrased): "There are only two people who know the truth. [Girl's name] and the killer." That is vaguely what he was quoted to have said. It's been over twenty years since I saw the film so I have to guess.

Try Recommendation For Mercy, a 1975 made-for-TV movie based on the case.
