This is indeed disturbing, but it's not like every EMS guy now is suspect. There are sick people in the world yes, but there are plenty that aren't as well. I agree with the person that's talking about the effect the CSI, Law and Order, etc shows have on rotting peoples brain.

Turning off the TV would add so much to peoples mental health.

You are absolutely right; it is indeed disturbing and not every EMS guy is a suspect, or guilty just like not every police officer crosses the line w/excessive force or every firefighter starts a fire...

It is sad, unfortunate and horrid that anyone, however, in the public service arena violates the publics' trust.

Is EMS sexual assaults, Police Officers using excessive force, or firefighter starting fires (never heard of this one actually) the norm or an outlier?

For all that said the norm, they need to turn off the TV because it is making them paranoid.

The point is the vast majority aren't some creep doing strange things but are simply trying to help. You can still trust your local police officer, fire fighter, or EMS guy I can assure you.

This incident is awful, but painting a broad brush over the entire professional spectrum is paranoid, uninformed, and immature. We can go tell this to the other 99.9999% of patients that have their lives saved by these people.

This guy belongs in Prison. The family deserves that. No one is justifying this heinous action. He should never be allowed to work in EMS again and be made an example of.

You can trust these people though. You don't have to worry about having mace ready when you call in the local EMS to save your life 99.999999% of the time. the other 0.0000001% might happen to get news coverage and people get paranoid.

So say thank you to your local Police, Fire Department, and EMS squad. These people are risk their lives to save people they don't even know.

Painting with a broad brush makes it easier for those who cannot understand that ONE person in ONE profession, does not equal ALL PEOPLE in that profession.
