The 46th precinct, aka the "Alamo", had 82 homicides in 1990 while covering a 1.32 square mile area. That's amazing number. Can anyone think of a place that had more homicides per area?

1973, 28th precinct (Central Harlem): 123 murders while covering 0.5 square mile. Accoutns for 246 murders per square mile.
By 2010 census, that precinct served to 43.383 residents so the murder rate was also around 300s.
Highest murder rate, highest number of murders per square mile, anywhere, anytime in US.
