U.S. News - Wrongfully convicted man awarded $25 million

This just breaks my heart. This guy didn't even have a chance!

I mean, this might sound bad, but he's in his early 30s with 25 million dollars. I can't say its worth it, but I think it'd be safe to say this guy wasn't going to go to college and become a successful business owner.

This guy seems really ripped-off:

The city of Jackson has agreed to a $195,000 settlement with a man who was wrongfully imprisoned for 12 years.

Man wrongfully imprisoned gets $195K settlement | The Clarion-Ledger | clarionledger.com

That's $16,250 a year. His attorney called it reasonable.

True, but I also hope that this much money doesn't ruin this man even further.

LOL Are you guys kidding me? $25 million in your early 30s is a very sweet deal despite having been locked up for 16 years. The guy is still young enough to do pretty much everything he missed out on during those 16 years and probably has another 50 years to live a life of luxury. As a rich guy in his early 30s, he can still date women in their prime (18-23), he can still enjoy the nightlife that he missed out on in his 20s, he can still travel the world in great health, he most likely still has his family around, etc.

If this guy had gotten the $25 million as a 65+ year old, I'd feel bad for him, but I just can't feel bad for a guy in his early 30s with that much money.
