My sister was murdered by her boyfriend and dumped in the colorado national monument park, Fruita, CO. Since her murder, it seems as if every other murderer is an occupant of the state of Colorado. I know bad people are every where, it just has made me wonder why it is, or if there is really any rationale on the subject...

Cindy, we got the same effect here where I grew up after the seminal school shooting at Finney High. It was covered so extensively in the newspapers and on TV that pretty soon every kid in Metro Detroit was spraying bullets around the streets, hoping to get into the papers. And they did. And their families. And their neighbors. As soon as the reporters stopped treating the killers like rock stars, and the parents locked up their guns, the shootings tapered off to nothing.
