How do you know he thought "violence was hot"? Can you read the mind of a dead man you never met? I have no issues with anyone sharing an opinion, but there are many posts here (not necessarily yours) from people who only know bits and pieces of the story and jump to conclusions based on a soundbite. All we know about their sex life is what is contained in text messages and a phone call she secretly taped. There is a big, big difference between fantasy talk and actually doing all of those things (getting tied to a tree, etc.) How often are we privy to someone else's private sex conversations? I don't think they were any different from most young people today...whether you personally think that kind of talk is ok or not, it is absolutely common and downright tame compared to a lot of what you can find online.
He slept and had phone sex with the stocker who slashed his tires and invaded his privacy. He was obvoiusly not turned off by such unnaceptable behavior. Healthy people are not attracted to violent people. The way he talked to jodi was abusive. Just forget for a second it's Jodi and think it was your daughter's boyfriend. Is that they way men should be talking to the women they are having sex with?

Just ask yourself would you sleep with someone who displayed such violence? Would you be sexually attracted to someone you think it's a sociopath with no feeelings? How about a worthless hooker?

I don't understand your question honestly but I will try to answer it

A healthy sexual relationship is one where the feelings of their partner count. One where you don't hurt the other person physically or morally. One where you don't take paths that might lead you to unhealthy behavior.

People can say all the BS they want but engaging in violence(name calling, rough painful sex) even when there no animals or children involved is a slippery slope. Why? Because you could always go a little too far and hurt your partner's feelings. Also violence can be addictive and escalate further if you think violence is a turn on.

It is not that different from romantic relationships or friendships, if you want a healthy relationship don't call your partner names(not even joking), treat them with irony or contempt. Don't engage in unhealthy behavior. Capiche?

Capiche ... nope I don't understand! Your post stated: no one taught them to have healthy sexual relationships.

Who teaches that course ... high school sex ed ... parents ... as another poster mentioned Dr. Phil ... the internet ... the preacher/pastor if one goes to church ... I don't think there is anyone teaching young people anything today except ... safe sex ... herpes is forever ... AIDS will kill you.

You are missing one important thing ... Arias enjoyed it ... she introduced Travis to these sexual delights. She encouraged the fantasies and even supposedly loved the idea of the forest and tree scenario going so far as to take a walk and looking for a location.

She stopped liking these things when she was arrested and started weaving her lies.

He didn't call her names until her stalking had been escalating for months and she had moved out of state. Considering what SHE had done to him, I think he was far too kind. I'd probably have called her something much worse. He had a vested interest in trying to stay civil as long as possible, since she had wormed herself into all of his social circles (PPL, the LDS Church) and she owed him thousands of dollars for a car. And sure, he probably couldn't resist the "ultimate ****" willing to do whatever he wanted sexually. But he was learning over time just how sick she was...May 26, he called her a sociopath. She stole the gun 2 days later and turned up unannounced at his home from California a week later. None of us know what the sequence of events was on that day for sure. We don't know if he let her in the house willingly or if she just surprised him in bed. All we know is that she brutally killed him, left with a cut finger and went on to Utah to mess around with another man.

In summary...he may have done what a lot of foolish young men do every day, which is think with the wrong head, but he didn't ask to be killed nor would any reasonable person expect to be killed in their own home when they believe their stalker is hundreds of miles away. The defense team had 5 years to find actual evidence that he was a bad guy and a deviant, and they found nothing apart from some letters JA had forged in her jail cell.

No.

Travis Alexander was in other relationships before he met Arias, and none of the other women who testified said he was ever abusive. Travis had a male apartment mate, and that guy never heard, saw, or head of any abuse from Travis' other girlfriends. He knew them all.

Jodi tried to present abuse as the reason for self defense, but totally failed in the attempt. Everything that happened in the few days before and after the murder pointed to her intent to do him in for dumping her, and the jury agreed with the prosecution's evidence.

The only thing Travis Alexander was guilty of was succumbing to Arias' sexual prowess. We will never know what was said between them after they had sex for the last time, but there was something or other that was said that probably tripped Arias' anger. She came looking for the slightest excuse to kill him, and he probably gave it to her, unaware that he did so. It might not have been verbal- just his actions may have been enough.

Hot sex has been the ending of a lot of men, especially those who think they are in control of a relationship. Alexander most likely thought he was in control, too- he had never met a woman like Jodi Arias, so he had no way of knowing what she was really like accurately. He did sense she was grasping and wanted to isolate him from other women, but probably never thought she was dangerous.

Isn't premarital sex against the Mormon faith? But yet he was sleeping with her when he baptized her and she was his "dirty little secret." We don't even need to talk about his "You sound like a 12 year old girl having her first orgasm... That is so hot" voicemail message.

While he most certainly didn't deserve to die it's pretty obvious he was not even close to being the perfect churchgoing Mormon that people make him out to be...
That wasn't a voice mail, that was a conversation that she was recording without his knowledge.

It's really a shame if parents can't teach their own children healthy relationships, no wonder we have so many people on medication.

It shouldn 't be that hard to remind your own sons that they have mothers and sisters and teach them not go degrade women because hurt people do get even one way or the other. Neither it should be that hard to teach your daughters to read men and stay away from those who degrade them because it will make them bitter, resentful and possibly vengeful.

If parents can't handle that or find it too difficult, then they should consider getting a pet instead, those only need a 5 minute litter training.

Really like what? And please enlighten me why was it necessary for Travis to degrade her sexual behavior when he was a willing participant in those activities.

Agreed he seemed to be handling the situation well at first, except for still having sex with her.

Yes he could. He was 30. Travis knew right from wrong. He was man capable of resisting his sexual desires. American society needs to stop portraying men like these helpless creatures at the mercy of sex. This thinking does more harm than good and it was the excuse many men used to rape their younger relatives. Humans are not dogs. They can think before they act.

You conveniently forgot to mention all the other nice stuff he told her, like 3 hole wonder, that people should be spitting on her face, and that she should be charging for oral sex.

When Arias was being interrogated and she claimed she had never been there, the detective assured her she had had sex with Travis the day of the murder. Not sure how the knew but the fact remains she killed him brutally and should get the death penalty.

It's not something foolish, it's something that is wrong, like being a stocker, like calling women you had sex with worthless whores or like slashing tires. It's toxic behavior.

No he did not asked to be killed but he engaged in risky toxic behavior that increased his chances of getting hurt.

I just heard the recording and assumed it was a voicemail.

It doesn't matter to me how the recording was obtained... I was just pointing out what was said by the elder Mormon. That's exactly the behavior I was talking about when I said he put himself in harm's way.

OK ... I got it ... you think parents are responsible then to teach their children ... Mother Arias discovers her 8th grade daughter Jodi is using her tupperware to stash marijuana (I was wrong in earlier post I thought Arias was growing pot.) Mom & Dad Arias call the sheriff's dept. who book Jodi and two of her friends. Her father Bill says, “After that – it was like something turned in her head… she hides everything from us… and has never been honest with us since then." Arias would routinely fight with her parents, she shoves her mother, and on at least one occasion, she punches Sandy in the face. Another time Arias kicks her mother.

She met Bobby Juarez at 15 ... at 17 Arias dropped out of school and moved in with Bobby Juarez. The relationship with Bobby Juarez was on again, off again. Juarez and her past boyfriends describe Arias as, she gets fixated on something that is then her exclusive life.

A picture of teen Arias & Juarez when they were shacked up together. Hmmmmm notice the pigtails and Superman shirt!

Arias became very interested in Wicca, witchcraft, Buddhism, and Hinduism, all of which she explored as she dated men who practiced those beliefs. Then ... walla along came Mormonism.

She breaks up with Juarez because he was cheating on her. Arias starts dating his roommate Matt McCartney, they get an apartment together and then Arias breaks up with Matt because he is cheating on her with Bianca (Arias drives 70 miles to confront Bianca.) After she breaks up with Matt they remain friends with benefits. She starts dating Darryl Brewer, Brewer describes Jodi’s sexual appetite as “aggressive and enthusiastic”. She then gets a job with PPL and that's all she wrote for Travis Alexander. The End!

So your synopsis is ... it's the parents fault. They raised a chameleon that changed to suit whatever each boyfriend wanted from her ... boob job ... bleached blonde hair ... whatever their religious beliefs she became same. But it's the parents fault, they should have bought a pet.
