Perhaps she's emotionally ill.

Yikes! Just came though CNN, jury just came back in at 3:11PM saying they are stuck -- judge just sent them back for further deliberations. Oh brother!

If she does not get the death penalty, they just need to remove it from the books.

Emotional illness and personality disorder seems to fit. I'm not qualified to determine her mental status.

I'm not surprised the jury is divided on the death penalty.

Personally, I don't think she'll get DP.

I look at it this way. A number value can't be placed on anyones life in the process of justice.

IMO she is using psychology again on the jury in saying she wants the DP - thinking that if she asks for it they won't give it to her. She is one smart cookie.

This whole thing is becoming a pathetic circus. I caught some snippets of her "media blitz" and I can't believe how some of these big shot "journalists" are treating her. One lady actually greeted her with a big smile and handshake like she was some kind of visiting dignitary! She's an effin' convicted murderer for Christ's sake! And maybe some of those idiotic hung jurors just want to snuggle and cuddle her and buy her effin' tee-shirts.

As Jed Clampett use to say: "Piiiiiiitiful"

There has been no discussion of her being mentally ill either inside the court of law, or outside. She is not. That is not an issue in this discussion and I submit that this topic, as an excuse for no DP for her, is nonsensical. It has been clearly established that she knew right from wrong by lying and via her defense of "self-defense", and she is certainly not mentally disadvantaged or incompetent. It's too late to use that defense now.

She has one or several personality disorders, clearly. Sociopathy, narcissm. I understand that people want to use the defense of "she had a bad life" or "her parents raised her wrong" or (from only her account) "she was misstreated". But a large percentage of the population has some sort of personality disorders brought about by their environment or upbringing, and they do not murder. The failure here is to not realize the reality that some people are evil and will murder without regret, for reasons we may never be able to explain. Those people should be removed from the living. This woman is among this group.

People in this jury are pretty intelligent. I don't know at what extent they are disgusted by her. Her crime alone may not send her to death. All her TV interviews may just accomplish that. Let us see.
So, is that what we want to do? Put to death the mentally ill?
