I read another news site's version of the story this morning. That one said he was surprised she was still alive as his intent had been to kill her.
No, I don't think that it's Match's fault this happened. Given he killed another ex, I think the outcome would have been the same no matter how she met him.
People have to know that there is inherent risk in meeting a stranger, and letting that person know where you live. Match.com makes no promises to screen the people who post or answer ads.

I agree. It's tragic but part of the risk we assume letting some people into our lives even briefly. In Most murders the victims knew their killer well. her meeting him in a bar, club or anywhere else would not discount the fact he was dangerous.
