So apparently he did use the bat on her and not the door:

Horrified family told Pistorius 'DID beat Reeva with cricket bat' as they are shown her extensive head injuries | Mail Online

They kept speculating in various articles.

Just unbelievable. Did he think the evidence would ever prove otherwise? It's really appalling that he would even try to lie about what happened.

It should be extremely easy to prove the paddle was not used on the door. A forensic team can simply match the paddle to any marks on the door.

If he hit the door hard with the paddle there would be marks on both the paddle and the door. There likely would also be paint or stain residue on the edge of the paddle if the door was painted.

If her head was badly injured, and the paddle was the weapon used, I don't think anything else said by Pistorius will matter.

I'm actually surprised they didn't perform this test immediately before they released him on bail?

I just thought of one other thing regarding his need to "break down the door" with a paddle ...

Why would his girlfriend have locked the bathroom door?

Why would a person having sexual relations with someone need to lock the other person out of the bathroom?

It's going to be the same reason as always. She was planning to leave him, and he was not going to allow that.

Maybe he started to behave erratically that night and she became afraid of him. She'd left a previous abusive relationship....maybe she recognized the signs in Pistorius, but too late.

Actually ... my point was that sexually involved couples typically do not lock bathroom doors from each other.

So the fact the bathroom door was locked proves that something was wrong between them that night.
