Oscar Pistorius murder trial could be delayed as his psychiatrist suffers heart attack | Mail Online

Here it says he was admitted Thursday, and will be released today:

It looks like no delay.

There's a good interview with a South African law expert about the significance and possible repercussions of Oscar's mental health evaluation here:

Default Oscar Pistorius ‘did not suffer from a mental disorder’ at time of girlfriend’s murder, doctors say

This news just released ....

Oscar Pistorius

Quote:
So much for an insanity defense.
Oscar Pistorius had all his marbles when he shot and killed girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp a team of psychiatrists concluded after examining the legless South African sprinter for a month.
The results were unveiled as the fallen Olympian’s murder trial resumed Monday.
Pistorius “did not suffer from a mental disorder at the commission of the offense that would have rendered him criminally not responsible for the offenses charged,” the panel of psychiatrists wrote.

As far as I heard, they barely knew each other. Too much false intimacy, too quickly . It is over hyped ,and as some here said ,boring ,boring, but the lesson is ,"get to know someone before you get close". Saves a lot of grief .

I don't find the trial boring at all, I find it extremely interesting. It provides insight into a legal system very different from our own, and touches on many issues: violence in south africa, the lingering fear of blacks, the high levels of violence against women, macho male posturing and playing with guns, and how sports stars and celebrities are treated by the legal system.

It looks similar to the Dutch system and the longest sentence is life in prison which means 21 years and for good behavior they get out after 12-13 years and life happily after while the victim and their family have been given real life sentences.

How depressed could he be, since he didn't waste any time finding a new girlfriend:
