On January 9, Meriden police arrested Samuel Castillo, 36, after he allegedly sexually assaulted a young girl in December.
The Record Journal reports that the victim told her parents about the sexual abuse after hearing a breast cancer awareness ad.
Following an investigation, which included an interview with "child professionals," a warrant was issued for Castillo's arrest.....snipped...

I have no problem with homosexuality as a sexual preference, it's consenting adults but, I can never understand crimes against children. I do not mean that I equate homosexuality and pedophlia, on the contrary. I just cannot grasp this type of different sexual preference.

Well, some men who are adult on paper are sort of socially arrested -- emotionally they are still teenagers and only respond to girls of their mental age. They see themsleves as dating an equal and do not see it as child abuse. Others are re-enacting being sexually abused at the same age, re-doing the crime with themselves as the criminals this time so they can feel less victimized -- yeah, I know, that's what I said too! Others simply cannot tell a child from an adult. None of this makes it OK of course, but my point is they simply do not see these things the way you and I do.
