Yup, I've read about that as well. Poor girl. I hope she now has a chance to have a good life because what she's had so far hasn't been good at all. I really feel for her. I feel for all of them but I do have a certain extra sympathy for her as she had no biological family to come home too..

I don't know the whole story here, but.... I am inclined to believe these women.
Because she is left with lifelong problems from this beast can she sue his estate and get whatever the worth of his crummy home is?

What usually happens in cases such as this when the guy is imprisoned for life or awaiting a death penalty? Do his possessions get liquidated? Do the proceeds go to his family? Shouldn't it go to the state to defray costs, or to the victims?

The victims could sue him. But unfortunately that crummy house was in foreclosure, so it probably wouldn't even be worth the effort to sue him. It will probably be torn down anyway.

A private investigator who tried to help Fernando Colon (Castro's ex-wife 2nd husband) was told by a family member that she'd been molested by Ariel. (link)

“I had already heard somebody tell me the exact same story about Ariel,” said Giannini, who described the informant as “a family member.” “Right away I know what (Castro) is doing. He’s projecting his own behavior on to Fernando.”

It looks like Ariel orchestrated false sex abuse allegations to either take the focus off of him and/or to get back at his ex-wife. And Colon still maintains he told the FBI to investigate Castro.

If the daughters did participate in false sex abuse charges I wouldn't believe anything they say to the media or their crocodile tears.

I'm sorry but where does it say that in the article? The article says that "Ariel Castro was himself the accuser in a sexual assault case involving his daughters.". I can't find anything in that article Castro was accused of molesting anyone. Castro is a lot of things, Rapist: yes, kidnaper: yes, wife beater: yes, a liar: yes, but I haven't seen any evidence that he is specifically a child molester.

Incidentally I don't believe for a minute the charges that Castro made against Colon, but thats another story.

Ya I read a article that said he and the ex wife both accused Colon of molesting daughters. This is really irrelevant to the present however, is being used as his history of police records. Also he wanted daughters to live with him and this would put the date after the girls were kidnapped.

What still is unclear is the role his children played in his life. Sometimes I read they lived with him after the wife left, but then it seems they didn't.

The suffering goes on for just days? Some judge you'd make!!! A judge with compassion!!! How about suffering slowly for 10 years?

This is what continually disgusts me about the criminal justice system in this country! "Compassionately", we send them to prison or Death Row!

One of the pluses, one day, of the eventual bankruptcy of this country will be a much-desired criminal justice system entailing eye-for-an-eye, tooth-for-a-tooth!

This case is clear cut. It is obvious he is a perpetrator, and stole these girls, and kept them locked up. Slam dunk to me.

Seems like there is a major problem with our judicial system, if this guy is not tried within a year. And given the death penalty.

But, no doubt, this will drag on for years. If the trial is before 2016, I will be surprised. With conflicting testimony by experts, and the full three ring circus, Nancy Grace is already chomping at the bit.

I hope Castro changes his mind and pleads guilty, gets a life sentence and is forgotten. Yes, he deserves so much more than a life sentence. But making these women testify in front of the whole world would his final torment.

Some happy news, the fund is now at over $650,000.
Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight say thanks for Courage Fund; total now more than $650K | cleveland.com

Felix DeJesus, Gina's father, has a simple but powerful message: Never give up. These women didn't give up. They should be proud of themselves.

Wasn't one of the victims only 14 when she was kidnapped? That makes him a child molester.
