She refused to follow verbal and physical instructions and raised a fist in way that could have been perceived as threatening. It looks like she was instructed to sit down and also place her hands behind her back. She refused. She was is some light weight. She was almost the size of the the officer.
Where it becomes excessive is after she was in placed in cuffs. Once cuffed, its when you pretty much tone it down.
Most of you are purely sheep and have no idea what it is or how it is to police a city of dirt bags and washers... you are one sided and spout what everyone does. Most of you have no idea what it is to be confronted by true crime on a regular basis while being a target.
Rather than discussing the suspect's actions of resistance, all you comment on is how aggressive the police were and how they should be jailed.
No one takes a moment to discuss the amount of times the woman is given instructions and the amount of times shes is uncooperative. If you are going to discuss a matter, point out all sides and not just jump on the wagon. Resistance, excessive use of force is the total picture. I challenge you to discuss the total picture. You won't cause you are sheep and only disscuss what others have told you to or what you have seen others write about.
Think for yourselves and make your own judgement. Do a couple of ride alongs in the meanest and baddest part of your city and understand what law enforcement does...
Why must you resist while in custody? Why must it take a person to be told several times while in the presence of authorities? I challenge you to discuss those questions- you will not, you will go over them just like you overlooked the incident... Stop being sheep.
The 2 policemen used excessive force on a woman. They banged her head into the side of the bench. I'm not anti police but the violence against the woman was completely unnecessary. Even a big woman is not a match for a man physically. They could have restrained the woman without the violence.

No, it became excessive when the second officer Ryan Cunningham arrived. The first officer from what I have seen did not use excessive force but he allowed it. I do feel kind of bad the first officer got fired but that is what happens when you allow violence, you become an accomplice. The second officer Ryan guy is a violent pig.

The officer cut her telephone conversation short, I'll assume it's what started the altercation. We're at a disadvantage without audio and have no idea what instructions she was given or how much she resisted.
So you believe slamming her head into counter was okay, when the officer was standing directly behind her and could've cuffed her then?

This has nothing to do with the state of law enforecement true, but simply these two loser cops. This thread has been suprisingly cognizent of that by not condeming all of law enforcement as it is an easy mark, so your defense is unwarranted and unneeded, and off-topic.
In regards to this case, and not your rant on the state of law enforcement, there is an article that accompanies the video. I read it, did you? The two officers were fired, obviously not because "they were simply misunderstood". The officer(s) were given a chance to tell there side of the story and blaming it on, ummm, the "mean streets" of that little town of Jasper Texas if you will (population 8,000). Instead they hung up on a reporter. And this from a city councilman who has filled in the blanks: “There’s nothing she said that could have justified what they did...They are supposed to be trained professionals. They are supposed to be above that. It was inexcusable.”
You call questioning authority an element of sheepism? That's bizzare, I call it the opposite. Stop being a sheep.
If you get mouthy with cops your very likely going to get a beat down. Sad but true.
AND if you use excessive force and get videotaped you will probaby get fired. Not sad but true
