Don't you have lovebugs and armadillos? Of course you do have those Monty Pythons slithering around in the swamp!

It sounds like the HOA's need to revisit who their neighborhood watch folks really are and what they are doing. Liability insurance is going to go nuts.

What's a "love bug" and what's wrong with armadillos if you don't touch them? Ok, I see the need for a gun with a Python. Forgot what state I was asking about.

Well, George Zimmerman bought his gun so that he could shoot his neighbour's dog.

We are moving ever closer to gated communities patrolled by armed guards to keep the rabble out---just like Brazil. Well, not even closer, we're there, and it's not pretty.

Sadly, HOAs tend to attract frustrated martinets who have spent their whole lives fantasizing about exerting even the tiniest bit of control over their neighbors.

I have always said: you can tell a lot about a man by how much or how little power it takes to corrupt him.
In the case of HOAs, it's often very little indeed.

Very well said. It sure makes sense. I cannot imagine being confronted by an armed neighborhood watch person like the people in the article. It had to be terrifying. So glad he didn't shoot.
