She probably new I was making up an excuse to go, but I didn't make any remarks to her lifestyle.
But you said that the fight was over drugs. How can you fight over drugs if you didn't mention her drug use?

Okay thanks, but I feel that the assault was still an assault. Yes it was bad of me to go over to her place. It was dumb of me. But she's still an assailant and a criminal. I don't feel I should have to not report it, just because I'm not street smart.

After thinking about it for a few days I feel like I have to follow my conscience, and my conscience says to report it.

No it's still a he said/she said, cause she cannot prove any home invasion. The case will not go anywhere on my end either, cause she can not make a case out of it either.

I know I don't have enough evidence for charges either, I am just reporting a crime on principle. But she doesn't have any evidence, to change it around on me either. You said that the police are going to need more evidence to make a case, than just my word. It would go the same way for her.

I still feel I should report it on principle. It's a looser case, but it's the principle of it. But she can't say I broke in when she invited me over through text messaging from her cell number.

She doesn't have any evidence to prove I broke in and it would just be her word, so she would not be able to make a case out of her word only, I don't think. Plus I do have text messages from her cell phone number, arranging to meet me and then inviting me over later, to her address, and it's in my phone. So she's not going to be able to prove any break in or anything, if she decides to go that route.

So just report it already. Some people say do it. Some people say don't bother bc it's too vague. You're not going to get 100% either way.
You seem like a decent person but I'm not sure what more people can say. Get in your car and go get it done if that's what you want to do.

So she is going to say it's her sister who made the text now? Now she has to produce a sister, willing to confirm that and all.

But anyway I was told by others that I should report it, first in case she decides to report me too, cause if I report my side first, I will cover my ass more I am told.

I see your point there, but I feel that it wouldn't make it trial though, cause there is too much 'reasonable doubt' to make a prosecute-able case out of.

Plus wouldn't the police find it a bit questionable that if were the attacker and she never reported it first? Aren't the police use to the accused, trying turn the tables on their accusers? Isn't that common for a criminal to do, and they are use to that?

Even if I couldn't prove a sister, there is way too much reaonable doubt in what she would conjure up, for it to go to trial. It's not a prosecute-able case at all.

Well I think a lot more than that would come out in the case. I see your point to a degree, but if she makes up a story, it's just a fabrication with no proof.
