making someone register as a sex offender for peeing is soooo messed up. Not all places will let you use the bathroom. Homeless people do not always have access to a bathroom. People who are out and about may not have access to a bathroom. It is incredibly unhealthy to hold it in, that's how people get UTIs and Kidney infections, which can kill you. It should not be more illegal than throwing up in public or not picking up after your dog's poop or something, but ruining someones entire life is completely unjust. ALL animals urinate outside, even humans, you just better not get caught or everyone will think you rape people.

Yes, I am sure that, as you say, 'People in Europe can't believe some of our laws', but those laws must be written because people in this country don't know how to behave.

He's lucky that he wasn't arrested.

How come it's men who cannot wait for a restroom? How many women do you see relieving themselves in public?
I see it all the time. Women are going to get an infection way easier than men, because we have shorter urinary tracks. But yes, they have to try and hide it better because we have to "pop a squat"
I'd rather pee outside than get a painful and dangerous kidney infection from holding it in.

Public urination is fine and dandy, as long as no one sees you.

The second you are seen, you're in trouble.

Fair enough too, the world is not your toilet. No one could care less about a pee in the forest, but bringing it out on a city street is just disgusting.

You know there is such a thing as "public toilets" right?

Also, it is not "incredibly unhealthy" to hold it in - the bladder is a container, that can stretch. You won't be getting a backup or infections as urine is sterile.

Holding it in will strengthen your bladder, which is physically capable of holding nearly half a litre of liquid, as long as you haven't trained yourself to be on a hair trigger (a lot of women do this).

Bladder infections come from an external bug working its way inside the urethra, eg if you have sex without washing afterwards, or wipe the wrong way.

Really? You must frequent some very strange neighborhoods to see women peeing in public. Maybe in the backwoods, in the Ozarks, where toilets are not available?

Please enlighten us, where do you witness these things?

I don't know if it has changed but when I was stationed in South Korea men and women peed in the street next to the curb...and men and women used the same restrooms at the same time...Sex is only a big BAD thing here..

Who said anything about sex? Who equates peeing with sex, except some perv?

No, no, no.
I used to work in New York. The situation has been cleaned up, but years ago a person would get off the bus at Port Authority and walk up 42nd or one of the side streets. In the heat and humidity of the morning, those streets would have an almost unbearable stench. The winos from the prior night's partying would pee in the streets, leaving it there for commuters. You'd have to, in your cute new heels, maneuver your feet around the sidewalk at times to avoid a puddle.

It's just disgusting. No civilized country should have to put up with that.

I don't give a fig about co-ed restrooms if women did not incuran increased risk of being molested. If they were supervised, why not?

Yeah, urination is not the same as rape.

I can understand making someone register as a sex offender for urinating in the presence of a minor; that's a given.

But stopping on the side of a rural road to take a leak? I can't imagine why anyone would have to register as a sex offender for doing something as harmless and miniscule as that.

There's got to be more to this.

Texas travel guide mentioned many rest stops don't have restrooms & advised tourists to pee in the culverts.

One guy was sick of people urinating in a convenient corner of his property. He installed a camera and a hose. It worked.
