This place sounds awesome. I'll have to check it out when I'm in Tucson.

Default Lunch is better than dinner at Kon Tiki.

We were at Kon Tiki a few times for lunch and had a great time - kids loved to look at the "dragon" and the food was very reasonable.

However, the very last time we came for dinner and it was a mistake - the place and bar was crowded, the only waiter (at least it felt this way) was overwhelmed. We had to wait forever to even get appetizers and then another 10+ minutes to get the plates (they were forgotten in the process).
When main course was served, the waiter promised a refill of iced tea. It didn't happen up until the whole dinner was over.

Finally, the kids got very impatient, and in order to get waiter bring us bill, I actually had to call Kon Tiki's main number and ask them to send waiter to our table.

Based on that experience, I'd suggest to come to Kon Tiki for lunch only, if you are with kids.
