Hi, I'm looking for a community service opportunity which is part of the requirement for the school I'm applying for. I'm looking for at least 60 hr service. Since I'm from foreign country, I have no experience or knowledge about community service. Any suggestion would help!
THANKS!!

that depends, do you live in the city dump?

you might talk to the court personal and see where they send people when the judge orders community service for those convicted of minor crimes. also contact the salvation army and other charitable organizations, they may also be able to point you in the right direction.

Do you have a car or do you rely on public transportation? Where in Tucson are you currently located? Do you have any specific skills or talents? Are you able-bodied or do you need a desk job? People here might have some ideas for you if we knew the answers to these questions.

In the meantime, you might want to start by contacting the office of your Tucson City Council representative, or if you're outside the city your Pima County Commissioner. You don't have to be a registered voter to contact them, just a resident. In my experience, my County Commissioner's office (Ann Day in my area) has been very helpful to me as a newer resident of Pima Co. You can find out on line who serves where you live.
