Apparently, another one out here to the west of town; Mile Wide Rd and near Sandario Rd. Boarder Patrol observed a vehicle going into Ironwood State Forest; heard a gun shot; observed a fire in the area and then lost the vehicle when it drove out of the area. A charred body was found in the area of the fire. Now, just what is it that the BP required to do when observing a crime in progress?

The rash of murders in the Tucson area is not doing anything good for my happiness. Of course, I don't hang out in the worst parts of town after dark. Do you think that all of these crimes were drug related or as a result of illegal immigration?

My guess? Drug related. Lots of smugglers trying to bring stuff up from Mexico and they have no tolerance for people who get in their way or cross them. The smugglers have a "shoot first, ask questions later" policy.

And another ... Overnight killing marks Tucson's 40th homicide this year

Equals the total for all of '09, just 6 to go to equal all of '09 for the county.

Very true. But the good news, if there is any, is that at least we're not El Paso/Ciudad Juarez. Now, that's bad.

And those that say that Arizona and it's unregulated gun shows are supplying many of the guns that end up in Mexico into the hands of the cartels are just plain ill-informed. I hope our wise legislators find a way to give a gun to every citizen at birth, like they used to do with savings bonds. I have always heard guns don't kill people, people kill people. So bring on the weaponry and let's
all live in a cocoon of safety.
Whos protecting you?

The real question is why aren't you protecting yourself.
I carry a gun for myself, for MY protection.

I think what's most shocking, is that crime goes down during a recession.
That's even got the analysts scratching their heads. Why of why!

And given the depth of this recession, I'm surprised every day I come home and I haven't been burglarized, been the victim of a carjacking, been shot at,
or mugged just going to the grocery store.

Mystery of mysteries!

The vast general populace has gotten off too easy during this cruel recession and we should all give thanks we're safe as we are today.

A rise in the homicide rate to certain year's level? I'm surprised even kidnappings haven't returned, a la The Great Depression.
