I live in S. Tucson, 12th and Ajo. I've never had any problems, the people are so nice. I ride the bus and people you meet going south are great. I feel like this, alot of crimes are committed in Tucson from people from S. Tucson, but they don't bother their own. There is a part of 6th thats supposed to be bad, it's like park and 6th, but anything past the freeway is great. Businesses thrive over here, and that area usually have shootings, death, however, the only ones I have heard about have all been gang retaliation. Did you all know the most unsafe place in Tucson is 1st and Prince area???? Had a business owner tell me that.

What is S. Tucson? 12th and Ajo is the Southside of Tucson not South Tucson. Do you mean a corner of Park Ave and 6th st? That is the University area where UofA liquors and Zachary's pizza are located. Park ave and 6th ave do not intersect.

Throughout the Tucson metro area the shootings are gang retaliation. Tucson's crime is overrated it's basically petty thieves and petty drug dealers and undocumented people being smuggled. Undocumented workers aren't dangerous by any means they just stay in Tucson until relatives and various other contacts pick them up and to take them to real big cities where they are hired.

I work there and the place is full of crack heads. I'd never live here. If its not nailed down, it will get stollen. If you don't have your doors and windows barred, you will get broken into. On the bright side, its better than Compton.

South Tucson (the square mile town within a town) is loaded with public money. It used to be the "bad" part of town, but it is cleaning up. It is still full of druggies, but other parts of town are too. It has opportunities galore for redevelopment. You can be sure that as downtown Tucson gets more gentrified, near South Tucson will too.

Just dont walk around there at night. Its not as bad as some people put it, but you can get caught in some kind of cross fire. Like someone said its usually gang retaliation. I go over there all the time though even at night, but i am hispanic so for me it may be better. For a white person im not so sure of.

What is less expensive? Real Estate? Businesses there sell just like any other place depending on what income it produces. Most businesses there are thriving so any business up for sale will be sold at a good price.

Like I've posted before if someone attempts to break in to your place and you call the police they will be there quicker than any other place in the Metro Tucson area. As for the area being full of crack heads have you gone through Stone/Chattsworth/North Oracle rd?

I've only lived here for 21 years, maybe that's not long enough to form an opinion on that section of town.

Of course it is and please by all means continue to share your opinions. All I asked is that you specify since the thread relates to busines, real estate and crime.
