Hi

I've always though about moving to the west. (in Louisiana now) I've been researching several places. I'm a computer (PC) hardware/electronics tech.
I've had a wide variety of experience in my nearly 30 years of work.
What would be the job opportunities for someone with my skills.
Also what is the wage level required to live a frugal, lifestyle there?

Thanks Mark

I'm a web developer but did tech support when I first moved to Tucson, but have since moved away from that somewhat.
I see these jobs pop up a lot and you have a lot of competition ahead of you. For one, you need to be A+ certified, because that's what everyone and their mom wants at these jobs. It would also help to have other skills: networking, a Cisco certification, MCSE, Mac experience, some proprietary software, etc. But someone to replace RAM and re-install Windows will probably see about $9/hour. If you have your bachelor's, you may be able to get a supervisor job, eventually.
A little under $20k/year will be able to get you by if you either live in a very cheap apartment or live in a roommate situation, but you'll be living paycheck to paycheck most likely.
