huh? What's the big deal there is already an asian market the size of safeway. Why is there a need for a walmart type asian place?

Eh, every ethnicity wants its own stuff - nothing wrong with that. When I first moved to Tucson I couldn't find any imported food. Now I'm pretty happy.

One of the Asian markets is on 22nd around Swan. There’s no other ethnic store East of this one at all! It seems like there are more Asians in Tucson than I realize. Granted, the 17th Street Market serves larger customer base, not only Asian.

As of last week there was an attached Vietnamese restaurant accessible both from the store and from outside but it wasn't yet finished.

It's a pretty neat store.

The attached Viet restaurant is open now, but I haven't tried it or read any reviews yet. I hope it's a good one because Tucson needs some good Asian restaurants. There are a lot of very bad ones here now.

I think Lee Lee's could have picked a better location, though, perhaps a bigger space right off I-10 that would be more accessible and with more parking. The whole mall could become an Asian center with some good restaurants, like the one in Chandler, but I don't think the parking is really adequate, plus I don't think the other businesses there will be happy to have Lee Lee's customers taking their parking places. But nevertheless it's good to have it here.

" Granted, the 17th Street Market serves larger customer base, not only Asian."

Lee Lee's also has European foods and south American foods and other ethnic foods.
