Sorry to necro an old thread but I'm also a transplanted new Englander, and was going crazy trying to find a decent new England style (read: Polynesian) Chinese food place.

I finally found one, its called Panda One and it's located near Oracle and Prince. Its delicious, and even specifies “New England Style” on the menu. Good luck!

Thank you AZGuy, we will definitely try that. Where are you from? We are from Jaffrey, NH. We have met several people here from New England. Look forward to meeting more.

Impress Hot Pot (an Eller student from China started it) and China Phoenix have been my preferences. I used to live by Dragon View. Nice owners, decent food. I tend to judge the non-hot pot places by how meaty their roast duck is. Dragon View was pretty bony.

I'm dismayed at some of the recs here though, lol...

If you want to drive to Sierra Vista there is a really nice Chinese Buffet a block or so from the Main Gate.
