I am a recent college grad who is interested in Phoenix/Tucson. I have had my heart set on living in a city without much experience. I have heard that Phoenix offers great opportunity for young professionals. What is Tucson like as for the job market for a young, single girl with meeting people/ going on dates/ making friends and having a very active social life/nightlife top on my priorities list??? Right now I've been bombarded with advice that city life isn't like what we see on TV & in the movies... Am I expecting too much?
Are there any young people in my situation living in Tucson/Phoenix with my same priorities who LOVE it? |

If you want "city life", I would suggest you look at other metro areas that are more than a collection of suburbs and have an urban core..

I have to agree with Billy. I have lived in both Phoenix and Tucson and I love both cities for very different reasons. I think that you may like Phoenix better if you are looking for a large social life. You can pretty much find whatever you need any time of the day there.... If you are looking for hard core partying Tucson almost shuts down at 11:00 on a weeknight.
....or maybe I dont know where the good spots are ;-) anyone, anyone? |

I think the places around La Encantada and Sullivans and places like that stay open after midnight even during weekdays.
The Mall??? The restaurants there? |
