ssebnj I think you'd be more than happy here in Tucson. Picture Rocks, while having some less desirable areas, also has many areas that are gorgeous and if you look enough you can find a very decent site built home on a generous portion of land. Early welcome to Tucson!

Thanks for all the replies everyone. I really appreciate the words of encouragement. Now all I have to do is get in my truck and start driving.

Way to go, ssebnj!
Just do it and stop thinking about it! The more you "ponder" the more likely you'll change your mind.
I postponed my relocation for years and now I could kick myself for waiting so long.
Good Luck!

I really hate Tucson, but I know people that love it here and I hope you end up finding a place you enjoy. You gotta find something that makes you happy.

In defense of Tucson: when I left Wash DC for the west almost 30 years ago; had I not headed to California, the Old Pueblo may have received my nod.

C'mon in, c'mon in, God knows there are plenty of houses for sale! Not that I'm an agent or anything, but it would feel better if they're off our hands.

Not quite, James
The only unbearable months are July and August plus, depending on the year, a few days into September.

May and June are a couple of my favorite months, I love the hot and dry weather. August is when it gets to me a little. I love the storms we get, but they make the humidity go up and it starts feeling like Illinois weather. Oh well, that's when I take my vacation.
