We are thinking of going to Puerto Penasco for a weekend in November. can anyone tell me if this is a good time to go, or is it the "off" season? Will it be warm enough to swim at the beach? Also, we're not HUGE beach people, and would enjoy just walking around town, eating, drinking, etc. Can anyone tell me if there are good areas in the city for this kind of things (like an area with streets with restaurants, bars, and shops)?

Thanks

I have not been there since I was at UofA 10+ years ago for Spring Break, but now being older, I would think this time of year would be great because you get avoid the zoo of peeps during the summer time and you can probably get some really good deals from shop owners and restaurants who are slow. Tons of PP websites out there with a lot of good information. For user reviews about the popular areas, check out Trip Advisor. You can locate everything simply using their map features.

With regard to the weather, like Phoenix, it will be about 5-10 degrees warmer than Tucson during the late fall and winter time frames. You may not want to jump in & go swimming without a wetsuit, but walking up and down the beach in the afternoon barefoot with the water rolling over your feet will be great especially as you will likely have much of the beach to yourselves.

Here is a review and things to do from someone who enjoys going to PP in the winter.
