Slow down and let the truck pass...or speed up and get ahead of it. And who said I was riding anyone's tail? I'm trying to get on the freeway too...now we're both at a complete stop (along with all the traffic backing up behind us now)...and we have like 3 feet to get up to 55 mph to safely merge into freeway traffic....not so safe...dear. (but I do appreciate the apology)

I don't know of anybody who comes to a complete stop on ramp just for the heck of it. There has to be a good reason for it. And speaking of that, there are many onramps in CA (how ironic ) controlled by traffic signals, so merging after a complete stop seems to be not only possible, not only encouraged, but required! What are we talking about then...?

They have those lights on ramps in Chicago too. They're only functional during rush hour. Somehow they are suppose to help people get on without backing up traffic. They go green for a moment to let one car go at a time. I't kind of stupid because you need to go "pedal to the metal" to go fast enough to merge onto the highway.

There are still people that stop at the end of the ramp anyway.

You may not know of anybody...but it's happened to me twice now. Why? Because they weren't paying attention to the freeway traffic until the very last second before merging . And yes, I have seen the onramps with traffic signals- I used them every day in Cali...they allow at LEAST 15 feet (and usually much much more) to gain enough speed to safely merge onto the freeway. The signals are NOT located a few feet from freeway traffic. THAT is what I'm talking about. Are we on the same page now?

Can a person just vent about a few frustrating traffic situations....sheesh!

Hey at least they ain't shootin at you. Every couple of years in So Cal they have freeway shootings. They say alot of it is related to gang activity. Part of being "jumped" into the gang. They drive around with their light off and shoot at people that flash their lights at them. This was claimed to be an urban legend but it sure seems to be true based on what I've heard and read.

I agree. I live in Oro Valley and have to use I-10 to get to work every day and it is just horrible. Everyone is either speeding like crazy or going 15 miles an hour under. And they will push and shove the whole way. I guess thats the price you pay for living in such a beautiful city.

It has gotten exceptionally worse since they have closed the exits, people get on and then realize they can't get off. Learn how to read the signs people.

This describes drivers in just about every place in the US, not just in Tucson.
