Which dog parks in and around Tucson provide spacious and reasonably secure areas for dogs who like to romp and play quite energetically. The pooch is big but super friendly and utterly non-aggressive.Thanks in advance for any tips.

That probably depends on where you are in town...

We used to take our dogs to the one in star valley, because they had separate small and large dog areas, but both were very well fenced and we're fairly large

Udall park is closest to me now... Lol

If you Google Tucson dog parks there's a list of all the ones in the area and their amenities

There are lots of dog parks in Tucson. If your dog is energetic and rowdy, he'll fit in at Reid Park. This is why we stopped going. The dogs were too rowdy for my dog, so we go to another park outside of Tucson that allows passive large dogs on the small dog side. One word of warning about Reid Park. There are a lot of tough guys who bring their un-neutered tough male dogs, and I've seen this cause a lot of fights.

Last year at Udall a pit bull put a death grip on another dog. By the time he was beaten off the victim dog had to be rushed to a local vet. The owner had a $200 bill for stitches and when he returned to Udall a couple of hours later the pit bull owner was long gone.

although i might say "bullet" to that dog while attacking, have a stun gun handy.

The large dog side "evening crowd" at Reid park's dog park has given me my worst experiences at a dog park. Alot of unconscious, inconsiderate dog owners with aggressive dogs, and people that don't seem to care when their dog is bothering another dog, or owner. There were so many bad incidents, that I decided it was not worth risking not only my safety due to careless people, but also the safety of my furry dudes! So I stopped going there.
The dog park off of Silverbell next to pacc has been the most mellow, and laid back dog park I have been to in Tucson.

Default Dog parks in Tucson

I have learned a great deal since posting my original query about dog parks in Tucson.First, I should have noted in my original post that I had in fact done some prior research before submitting my question.I searched several forums and in fact I also googled "dog parks and Tucson ".What I was after was the guidance that personal experiences of dog owners could provide. In fact there have been several extremely helpful and informative replies for which I am most grateful.Thank you to all who have responded,

I understand completely the sentiment of those who post replies on this and other forums that people who pose questions should whenever possible, do as much information gathering in advance as they can.Indicating that you have done so allays the feelings of others that they are answering the same questions over and over again.I think its probably a good general practice to follow,I will certainly do so in future posts when applicable.I appreciate the time and thoughtfulness of those who are so willing to be helpful.Thank you again.
