Clearly you are not privy to the goings-on here. Here, we have a police force who won't apprehend illegal immigrants blocking buses from departing their stations to take illegals to be deported. Here, we have a police force who won't clear homeless out of a park, known as "Safe Park", even though they are in violation of code and have been warned. Here, we have a bi-lingual school principal, with TUSD board members present, encouraging elementary aged children to support the Cesar Chavez paid holiday only in Spanish. We have the most ass backwards approach to street repair it is laughable.

Detroit II.

+1, nice points.

AZ needs more J Arpaio's

i dont understand the support for having illegals in AZ. illegal is illegal, ICE should be all over that. some illegals are bad folks, some illegals are nice folks, but both have "illegal" in their description. thus, i have no issue enforcing the laws that are for illegal activity, and illegal presence in the US is an illegal activity.

once in a long time you might see someone who wants to see things change, and for little or no reward this person offers valiant effort for the cause. not sure when Tucson will see this person come along, but my guess is, not for a long time.

other than retail and the service industry, what business is there in Tucson? why in the world do we need more strip mall stuff out near twin peaks and I10, and avre valley rd and I10? so the locals dont have to drive as far to get jimmy johns or a haircut? geez, this only cuts into the gasoline business. the twin peaks development was announced as having plans for mall area + hotels. really, why more hotels, the group of hotels on cortaro and the rest of them along I10 cannot accommodate those passing through? i dont get it, and as long as the county/city/town folks continue to allow this useless development to continue then Tucson will remain exactly the way it is.

I agree, most illegals are actually nice people, BUT illegal and for that matter LEGAL immigration is bad the country simply because there are already enough people out of work and it drives wages down and unemployment up. I as a US born citizen can't just simply go into Canada, Sweden, Denmark, France, show up and be allowed to work, stay and become a citizen, so why should that be the case here?

Word is Tucson WAS nice 30 years ago. I've been there and; tho it gets hotter and less rain, I'll stay in Bullhead City and that town has its own problems.

I have to correct myself on this point; Tucson is actually fighting for the Tesla factory and we may even get some State support on this. Apparently the Legislature is mulling over the concept that 6500 jobs is a good thing, even if they might end up in Tucson.

The state is supporting it because it looks like Tucson is going to lose the Air Force Base. It's more of a "job preservation" rather than "job creation" move.

Is Tucson losing the base, or just the A10s? Having a base close by is one of the reasons we're considering the Tucson area.
