I know every area has its good and bad though.
That is the typical neighbourhood. It is ghetto for the most part, the foot hills are better but you got to be upper middle class to rich to live there.

This area is very high in rental properties & absentee owners that don't care as long as they get their $$. If the City would fine the owners BIG $$$ for continously renting to criminals maybe the owners would do some background checks & rent to more respectable people that would actually care about their properties instead of trashing them.
Both Suncrest Apts are owned by the same group from out of state. They live in Calif, Utah & Wash St. with no phone #'s listed. (I have names & addresses). Everyone in this neighborhood should call Dorothy Locke,(she represents the owners) at Tucson Reality & Trust (520) 327-0009 to complain. Maybe if she hears enough complaints something would be done to get rid of the problem tenents.
It's too bad you didn't show the speed bumps & traffic circles that the neighborhood association just put in to slow the traffic. Ok, the City hasn't gotten around to landscaping the circles yet, but it will real soon. And later this summer, street lights will be installed on Navajo, Mohave & Yavapai. But then if you were an active part of your community you would know these things. It's always easier to sit back & complain than get involved and try to make a difference.

Did you know that there used to be a stagecoach stop near Fontana & Mohave?

There's good and bad parts of every city. There's lots of nice areas in Tucson. You just need to explore.

I still think it is funny how some here talk so negatively about Tucson. Take Steve-o. He is from Chicago. I was on the Chicago suburbs forum briefly abd I believe it was him that was posting pictures to show how beautiful it was. He only posteds pictures of the extremly nice places. Since i still live here I was going to post some pictures of the not so nice places that were very neer to the ones he posted. For every nice one he posted, I could post a not so nice one. But I thought, what's the point? Obvously I wouldn't change his opinion. The part I don't get is since he lives in Chicago, why would he constantly continue to post negative things here?

So I still believe as i have said before, you need to take what is said here and make your own opinion. If you don't like the desert and heat, you won't like Tucson. I feel that Tucson is a wonderful place. It had it's plusses and minuses but i still think there are far more plusses. In fact, since real estate is so bad here (Chicago) and it may postpone out move, (difficulty selling out house) we are planning to put some money away so we can visit Tucson again this summer. Maybe we can even meet some of the people that we have been in contact with in some of the forums.

I live at Suncrest and this place is bad. We had a gang shooting a few nights ago. I can't wait to leave this place.

I lived in Tucson in the early 70's, I loved it. There was almost an unreal quality about the place. We went back for a visit in the mid 80's, good grief, how the place had grown. It was still nice, though.
I wonder what Tombstone's like now........
