LOL @ your too literal thinking
Anyway, I can see it could sound this way to an unassuming viewer, but that's not what I meant and the comment was specifically addressing mdtoaz.

I see that you don't address the issue, you just attack me...
Anyway, I was at Level the other night and I saw this woman standing alone at the bar. I went over and said "hey." I wasn't trying to pick her up, I only thought that she might be interesting to talk to for a while. She turns, doesn't say a single word, but gives me a look like 'be gone from my sight' and turns back around. However, about 20 minutes later, one of my coworkers walks in with his girlfriend and he invites me to sit with him in the vip area, while his gf goes to the restroom. When she comes back the woman from earlier is with her. It turns out that they are both friends. The woman sits down next to me, doesn't apolgize for treating me rudely, and starts to come on to me. Since I was now in her clique, I was acceptable... I am not one to hold grudges, but when you treat someone poorly and don't even apolgize... I told her exactly what I thought of her and left.

Maybe she thought you where trying to pick her up or some type of weirdo (She obviously CAN'T read your mind) Random guys hitting on girls isn't something that women appreciate these days. Doesn't matter if you are in Chicago, NYC, or L.A etc.
When you sat in the group, she basically didn't see you as a stranger anymore. There are a lot of freaks out in the world...that is why she ignored you most likely in the first place.
But that you "left" and caused drama of what you thought of her. Probably made her feel more confident, because she probably thought you where an A-Hole. And turning away from you in the first place, was probably the right decision. So you basically situations like yours, made it worse.

If the Mint is still open it s a great place for pool and laid back not clique people. Although I do think sometimes that is more a perception than reality..... (the clique)

As I said before, I was not trying to pick her up and if she would have spent as little as 30 seconds she would have found out that I am not a weirdo. Just because I am going over to talk to someone doesn't mean that I want her to be my girlfriend or wife. All it means is that I think it *might* be interesting to talk to you for a couple of minutes, nothing else.
Actually, no, now she is bugging my coworker for my number and I told him to tell her that "she can go straight to hell for all I care." I have no tolerance for people who treat others like garbage, then don't even apologize.
Seriously, if I owned Tucson and Hell, I would live in Hell and rent Tucson...

hahaha dude it seems like treating her like crap (just how she treated you) is turning her on... now I suppose you've found the way to the Tucson girl's heart haha.
And Stilldirrty, actually random guys hitting on girls is expected behavior in bars/clubs, at least in all other parts of the country. Bars' functioning as the local meat market is at least half the reason for their existence, and I would argue the ONLY reason for their existence... people don't need to go to a bar to get drunk. That said, getting shot down by a woman because of no "social proof" is certainly nothing new.
Yes, I realize this thread was dead but seeing as how I'm considering moving to either Tucson or Phoenix (and many others are as well) one of these days I think maybe we'd like an update a8472c on your progress there. Maybe if you brought in your own "clique" you'd have an easier time? Also, has anyone seen "The Pick-up Artist" on Vh-1? I don't particularly care for it myself, but I noticed that they're in Phoenix for this season and compared to the dinky college bars/clubs we have here in Lexington (where SEATS and decent music seem to be an afterthought to serving as much alcohol as possible and packing in so many people that you can barely turn around) that place looks heavenly...
