Default Looking...for an apartment near UofA that is safe & takes big dogs

My daughter will be moving in August from a suburb of Chicago to start as a Freshman at the UofA with a major in Biology. She is looking for a 1-2 bedroom apt that accepts large dogs and her boyfriend (yeah..not too happy about the bf but life goes on). My other daughter is in the Army and is being shipped out for about a year and my college daughter agreed to "babysit her Akita" for that year. Any suggestions as to apartment complexes that we can contact would be greatly appreciated. The dog is great is apartments since he is about 10 years old and very well trained.

Why would anyone put a large dog in an apartment? It isn't fair to the dog, or the neighbors. Dogs, especially large ones, belong in a large fenced yard. I see this all the time and just shake my head. Have a little compassion for our furry friends. The only thing worse is seeing dogs chained up outside.

There are many websites that you could check. I think a lot of complexes might have weight limits on dogs, though. Another route you may want to try is looking on Craigslist. She might be able to find a rental house with a yard close to campus.

I agree...however my daughter is in the service and shipping out in a month. She asked my daughter if she could watch her dog which is 10 years old. So we didn't have much of a choice. Also...we never chain our dogs outside. We are a multiple animal family and take good care of our pets.
