Default Good driving times to Phoenix?

Hey all!!

It's me again, packed and all ready to move. Happy and sad all at once...

Anyways, I was curious to know how long it takes to drive into the Phoenix Metro area and what would be the good driving times on a Friday, Saturday, Sunday to avoid all the horrible traffic that everyone keeps mentioning??

Thankx (and I may even see some of you posters in two weeks!)

I haven't been up to Phoenix for some time, but I can't imagine any horrors on the weekend except perhaps Sunday night... On Friday obviously you're better off avoiding rush hour. I-17 can be bad on Sun night, but you're coming from FL on I-10, I take it. It's probably best to ask the Phoenicians about that.

You've got a problem here, though. Many exits on I-10 are closed.

It takes 1 1/2 to 2hrs to get to Phoenix once you are on I-10. If you are looking for a more scenic route then take 77 to 79 to 287 to I-10, but it takes about a half an hour longer. Since the average speed in Tucson seems to be around 20mph, it'll probably take another 1/2 an hour to an hour to get on the I-10 depending on where you live. As for when are good times to go, I'd say anytime is a good time to leave Tucson...If you are unfamiliar with Phoenix though, then I would recommend arriving between 9am and 2pm or past 7pm on weekdays, pretty much anytime on the weekends.
