Allergies in Arizona are bad--everyone I've ever talked to has gotten them or worsened them when coming here. I went to a naturopathic physician and they've decreased substantially. They are a problem for alot of people.

Default allergies are the pits here

I have lived in Tucson about 2 1/2 years. The 1st allergy season, I had no symptoms at all. It was great, as I have lived with allergies my whole life. Last year, however, I was hit hard in the September/October time frame - full blown sinus pressure, constant uncontrollable sneezing, itchy eyes, asthma, sleepless nights (as it always gets worse at night), congestion...the works. The same episode took me a few weeks ago and taking the zyrtec/sudafed combo did absolutly nothing. I started taking mega doses of vitamins and minerals: quercetin and bromelain and vitamin-c. this has helped quite a bit but not enought. Still looking for something better.

I moved here in May and I had some issues with itchy eyes and sneezing. A lot of it was the blooming Palo Verde trees. Then, allergies were not an issue for a few months until September. This month, I've had the same issues; mainly itchy eyes. Not really much congestion, thank god. Have sneezed a fair bit. Basically, when my eyes start itching, I can take half an antihistimine tablet and it pretty well deals with those symptoms for awhile.

So yeah, allergies are an issue here, but not remotely like when I lived on the east coast. They were just brutal back there. If allergies are an issue next spring, I'll look into getting allergy shots. I took them back east, and they're reasonably effective.

Mostly, the dry weather here is great for my sinuses. I tend to get sinus infections in high humidity.

My allergies are worse here than any other region of the country I've lived in. When I don't have allergies I have problems with the barometric pressure changes.
