Allergy sufferers in Tucson
I would love to hear about the severity of allergies in Tucson. For those of you who have lived in other cities, are your allergies worse in Tucson? Must you medicate constantly?
Thanks for sharing!!

I have lived here just a month and have suffered daily with my allergies. Back home in Tennessee I had allergies that were seasonal. I think it's the dust here, but am not sure. I find relief by taking allevert. My son sees an allergist and receives allergy shots. He has an appointment Thursday with a new allergist here in Tucson. We weren't happy with our first one here. I, too, would love to hear input from a long time resident with allergies to see if this is a year round "thing"

I believe the allergies are seasonal here, too. All my coworkers have been sneezing all day last month.

My allergies have been kicking lately!! So glad that Zyrtec is now OTC.
I think the dryness doesn't help either - or at least for those of use w/sinus problems, too.

The air is full of dirt here. If you have dust allergies it'll git you. Also my nose dried out and doesn't do its job effectively and is filled with dirt. On the other hand, I am not suffering at all from my old nemesis:mold.
I steam, use vaseline, and an aromatherapy prep. And drink lots of water of course. Works great.

I had horrible allergies in Tucson. One of the problems is people from other states move in, miss the flowers and the grass they miss so much, creating more allergens in the area.

Yep I have lived here my whole life and allergies are TERRIBLE here! I'd say they are a LITTLE better during summer/fall (SOMETIMES) but for the most part I have them all the time. So do my friends and family. In fact my moms motto has been "I've been sneezing since January!".
My reccommendation: invest in a netty pot!!

I have never had allergies before but this year I developed them. I got them real BAD!!! Itchy eyes, clogged throat.. and all that good stuff. They have gone away but lasted for a few months.
