I live in 85737 and it's about 35 minutes to the airport on a good day, 40 if there's traffic. I usually go Oracle to River to Campbell and then it's basically a straight shot to the airport. I would imagine D-M is about the same. Son in Law is USAF and we've been to D-M to play golf, but I never really timed it. Where I am in Oro Valley there is a Fry's Grocery practically across the street as well as Target, Petsmart, Wells Fargo Bank and tons of other stores as well as a Home Depot (all in the Rooney Ranch shopping center), and north on Oracle, they're building a Best Buy, Wal-Mart and a multi-plex movie theater among other things. Pretty much anything you'd need is within a few minutes from our area.

85711-
Reid park, lovely homes (cheaper east of Alvernon), and great bus service on Broadway, so you are not stuck in traffic with all the maniacs. Broadway is nicer than near Speedway- stay away from the north sde of Speedway east of Alvernon!

fyi, Oro Valley zips are 85737 and 85755.
85737 was split about 2 years ago--1/2 stayed the same, 1/2 went to 85755.
85704 is Casas Adobes. No idea what 85739 is, but never heard of it in Oro Valley...

Here are some areas where NOT to move to:
1: 85705
2: 85745 (North of Grant is good)
3: 85701
4: 85719
5: 85713
6: 85706
High crime rates, drug dealing, and prostitution is the worst in these zip codes

Okay, so I'm not really sure if 85641 actually qualifies, but it's a great place. In fact, we have decided to build our home here. It's in Sycamore Canyon, next to Corona de Tucson, Vail mailing address. It's quiet, pretty, not so built up, and yet it's still close to it all.

Good for you! If the commute doesn't bother you, it's nice and peaceful out there.

I want to chime in on 85745... that zip seems to encompass a pretty large area. It was mine when I first came to town and rented a house. We were off of Goret and Silverbell. It was incredibly quiet and a really pretty area. I'm sure there are some scary areas within the zip code, but there are some nice ones, too.
